ICTC Current Programs Include:
Sistah Care Health Career Program
This is a 12 month retention program for high school female students who want to
enter health fields including midwifery. Sistah Care provides academic
skill-building,
cultural awareness, clinical training, and community service. The program meets
weekly with certificates of completion being earned by the end of the year. In
some cases school elective
credits are earned.
Rites of Passage Midwifery Training
This is a 24 month on-line midwifery training program currently in development.
Gentle Birth Education Centre
Gentle Birth Education Centre of Nigeria is a charitable organization approved
by
the Federal Government of Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission with clearance
from the Nigerian police. Mr. Andrew I. Ewere is President and is a male
midwife.
His goal for his centre is to improve birth outcomes in Nigeria; to reduce
maternal mortality; and to introduce the benefits of water birth and to provide
prenatal education. ICTC needs your donations to help Gentle Birth purchase
childbirth education supplies.

Edna Adan Ismail Maternity Hospital
After four years of planning and construction, Edna Adan Ismail has poured her
life and savings into seeing the first non-profit, teaching, maternity hospital
in Hargeisa, Somaliland opened in March 9, 2002. Edna Adan Ismail, the keynote
luncheon speaker at our first midwifery and healers conference, is the first
certified nurse midwife in Somaliland, the first woman Minister of Family and
Social Welfare, which is a cabinet position. To contribute to her hospital,

Full Circle Doula Certificate Training
Training to become a doula will be offered quarterly for three and one-half
days. Students must meet specific requirements before registering for the
course. The course will cover prenatal care, nutrition, labor and delivery
coaching techniques, massage, postpartum recovery and breast feeding savvy.
Upon successful completion of the program you will receive Doula Certification
